This is the area where you can listen to a selection of my music including tracks from my musical friends. Many of the recordings are the simple first takes rather than finished studio produced tracks. Hopefully, this makes them even more real and gives an idea of the songwriting process.

***NEW*** The Spirit of Beowulf (updated 11  April 2018)
Composed, arranged and performed by Adrian Ratcliffe.  I wrote this instrumental for the Beowulf Festival 3-7 May 2018 being held by the banks of the River Deben in Woodbridge, Suffolk. The music interprets the Beowulf legend as the hero Beowulf fights with the forces of evil! Listen and imagine as he fights with the monster Grendel, Grendel's evil mother and then the dragon with both triumph and suffering!

Cool Beer And Fishing Boats (updated 24 September 2017)
Music & lyrics by Adrian Ratcliffe.  This is a fun song with a beach party feel about Felixstowe Ferry and Bawdsey at the mouth of the River Deben in Suffolk. The song is centred around the foot ferry that links the two sides of the river. I'm singing it at present so not so good! Will upload a new version when I find a singer that can do it justice.
I am entering this song in the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest. They don't judge the vocals, only the song!

So Special (updated 10 February 2017)
I started writing this song many years ago when my daughter came home from the USA to support a friend of hers at a very difficult time.  This is a play around with the music to possibly go with the 'So Special' lyrics under the Lyrics Section. Aiming for a jazzy feel and experimenting with the mix at this stage.

I Love You More Each Every Day
Music by Adrian Ratcliffe & lyrics by Adrian Ratcliffe & my daughter Amanda Crosbie.  I wrote this song about the birth of my Grandaughter - an event in the middle of winter in rural Germany with heavy snow! I asked my Daughter to write down her memories of that time and these formed the basis of the words. This included her husband being away on overseas duty. This is the first simple recording of the song.
